10 WAYS TO BOOST YOUR METABOLISM
How fast your body burns calories depends on several things. Some people’s speedy metabolism is inherited. It is also gender related where males tend to burn more calories than females, even while resting. And for most people, metabolism slows after they reach 40. Although you can’t control all of the above, there are other ways to working in boosting your metabolism.
1 Diet in moderation
Eating fewer calories may help you drop pounds, but it affects the body’s nutrition badly plus losing muscles while losing weight which slows your metabolism.
2 Drink Green Tea
Research suggests that drinking two to four cups of either green tea or oolong tea may push the body to burn 17% more calories during moderately intense exercise for a short time.
3 Black Coffee helps
Caffeine rise metabolism rates, makes one feel less tired and even increase the endurance during exercise.
4 Increase your Protein intake
Your body burns many more calories digesting protein than it does eating fat or carbohydrates. Replace some carbs with proteins like turkey, fish, chicken meat, nuts and eggs plus decreasing your dairy intake.
5 Add spices to your meal
Spices contain natural chemicals that can kick your metabolism into a higher level. So, next time when you prepare your healthy meal at home, don’t forget adding a tablespoon of green chili pepper to boost your metabolic rate.
6 Don’t forget snacks
Eating more often in small portions can help you lose weight. Having a small meal or snack every three to four hours keeps your metabolism cranking, so you burn more calories daily.
7 Give Energy drinks a try
Some ingredients in energy drinks like taurine, (an amino acid) can give your metabolism a boost. However don’t drink it more often since the American Academy of Pediatrics doesn’t recommend them for kids and teens.
8 Stay Hydrated
Dehydration slows down your metabolism. You need daily eight or more glasses of water to process calories.
9 Build Muscle
The more muscles your body has, the more calories you burn when you’re doing nothing.
Every pound of muscle uses about six calories a day just to sustain itself, while each pound of fat burns only two calories daily.
